Resonance – Photographing a weekend of Connection and Renewal

Some events are about celebration. Others are about slowing down, listening, and reconnecting with ourselves.

I recently had the privilege of documenting Resonance, a three-day retreat created by the amazing Jenine, Nine Healing Arts, held in the beautiful surroundings of Okuti Garden near Christchurch. The weekend brought together yoga, sound journeys, art exploration with Lisa Grennel, and mindful practices, creating a space where people could step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with their natural rhythm.

As a documentary photographer, I am always drawn to authentic moments. Retreats like this are filled with quiet gestures, shared laughter, moments of stillness, and genuine human connection. I love capturing the atmosphere as it naturally unfolds.
